High above a cliff overlooking the Guanabara Bay in the city of Niterói, framing panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro, stands the MAC, one of Oscar Niemeyer’s most iconic works. Although the MAC is often described as UFO amidst earthly beauty, I prefer to see it through Niemeyer’s poetic lens, as a form emerging and growing from the ground, like a flower sprouting from the rocks: a testament of a futuristic vision defying gravity and convention.
